Whether time is fundamental or emergent, we experience it in a linear way; it has a direction. It feels natural to plan for the future, and to turn past moments over and over in our mind. It’s immensely difficult to give your absolute attention only to a single moment in time, the present. In my Temporal collection, I reflect on this phenomenon by playing with the directionality of the strokes of pigment. The linear blocks of earth colours emerge, stack, and transverse like moments in consciousness.
